Telegram removes paid posts from iOS app as per App Store guidelines

Due to Apple's rigorous App Store restrictions, Telegram disabled the ability for iOS users to generate pay-to-view posts.  The CEO of Telegram, Pavel Durov, claims that although users of the platform have been utilizing third-party payment or donation bots to sell access to certain postings on their channels, Apple is "not happy with content creators monetizing their efforts without paying a 30% tax to Apple." Apple prohibits the use of third-party payment processors in app development and levies a 30 percent commission on all in-app sales. This disagreement between Durov and Apple is not the first one. Durov accused Apple of delaying one of its upgrades by weeks in August because the business objected to Telegram's new Telemoji, which transforms regular emoji with entertaining animations.  Recently, Telegram also unveiled its $4.99 monthly Premium subscription, which grants users access to premium services.  Telegram notification sound However, if you purchase it through its desktop website, Telegram will give you a $1 discount because "the purchases are not subject to surcharges from Apple or Google." Several businesses have criticized Apple in the recent week. On Wednesday, Spotify accused Apple of making it more challenging for the service to sell audiobooks on its app.  Apple later rejected the update entirely, forcing Spotify to fully ban audiobook purchases from its iOS app.  As a result of the requirement to give Apple a 30 percent cut whenever a user pays to "boost" the visibility of their posts on Facebook or Instagram, Meta also charged Apple of "undercutting others in the digital market."
