Telenovela actor Pablo Lyle sentenced to five-year in prison for a 2019 road rage death

Following a road rage incident that resulted in one man's death in Miami, telenovela actor Pablo Lyle received a five-year prison term. According to
NBC Miami, Lyle, 36, showed up in court on Friday for his sentencing while dressed in a jail jumpsuit.
Details about the case
Pablo Lyle was convicted guilty on October 4 by a jury following an arrest for a 2019 incident in which he assaulted a man during a traffic-related confrontation. 63-year-old Juan Ricardo Hernández was thrown to the ground. And the event was captured on security camera footage.
According to his relatives, Hernández's accident caused a brain injury that resulted in an internal hemorrhage and rendered him comatose. Eventually, Hernández's life support systems were turned off.
Furthermore, Phil Reizenstein, Lyle's attorney stated, "The conviction is unfair and we hope it will be reversed on appeal but the sentence was fair."

According to
NBC Miami, Lyle was facing a sentence of 9.25 to 15 years for the manslaughter conviction, but Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez was lenient after noticing Lyle's contrition. Tinkler Mendez remarked per the outlet's report, "Nobody here is going to be satisfied, nobody here is going to forget the pain that's been caused."

Moreover, reports revealed that Lyle will also be required to complete 500 hours of community service, attend anger management programs, and undergo an eight-year probationary period.

Pablo Lyle stated during the hearing that he didn't want to cause Hernández's death. According to reports, he stated, "I truly thought I was protecting my family."
Additionally, during the sentencing hearing, Lyle apologized to Hernández's family.
According to
NBC Miami, Lyle remarked, "I can only imagine the pain of losing a loved one, someone that important, especially in a situation like this. I think about it every day. I pray that this day will bring you closure and that whatever happens today you can leave this courtroom with grace in your hearts."

On another note, Lyle appeared in several telenovelas, including

La sombra del pasado, among others. He also had a part in the
Yankee Netflix original series.
Lyle also stated in the court that Hernández's passing still bothers him.
He stated, as per
NBC Miami, "That Mr. Hernandez lost his life because of something I did, something that walks with me, it haunts me when I go to bed and it's still there when I wake up. I never wanted any of this to happen, I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined something like this could have happened, that life could be lost and so many others affected so drastically in just a matter of seconds and just one punch."
