According to reports, TeraWatt Infrastructure has announced the construction of the first network of heavy-duty and medium-duty truck electric car charging stations on the Interstate 10 freeway, which runs from Long Beach, California, to El Paso, Texas. In New Mexico, California, and Arizona, the facilities will be less than a mile from the closest freeway exits and around 150 miles apart. Even though there aren't many electric long-haul trucks on the road yet, it's likely that they'll arrive sooner, so building a charging infrastructure now is a wise decision. Also Read: Google Pixel's At A Glance features an 'Earthquake Alert' For long-haul and local electric trucking operations, the charging stations will contain a large number of direct current fast chargers, pull-through charging stalls, and on-site driver amenities. The announcement came after President Joe Biden's administration unveiled a plan to allocate $5 billion to states as part of the bipartisan infrastructure package for EV charging along interstate routes. The Biden administration has also set a goal for EV sales, expecting them to account for 50% of all new vehicle sales by 2030. Furthermore, they also promised to switch over to electric power by 2035 for their government fleet.
