The fantasy of an iPhone without a notch looked destined for the next year, when an Apple analyst projected we would receive all the necessary parts for Face ID to be placed beneath the display. According to a recent leak, we might have to wait until 2025. An array of sensors, including an infrared camera and an infrared projector, are used by the main line of premium iPhones to enable Face ID. The front-facing camera is located under the iPhone's notch. According to famous leaker Ross Young's tweet, under-display Face ID has been "pushed out at least a year to 2025 or later," adding that sensor problems are to blame for the delay. Young didn't specify what the sensor problems are, so it's not apparent why Apple isn't putting everything under the display. Apple has recently made the wide black band at the top of its premium phones smaller, even though iPhones still have a notch. The more expensive iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max came with a brand-new feature called Dynamic Island, which concealed some of the notch space and turned it into a tiny control panel for media and apps. Although the ZTE Axon 20 5G, which was unveiled in 2020, was the first phone in the world with an under-display front camera, its selfies were not particularly impressive. However, more high-end Android devices now incorporate under-display cameras, like the RedMagic 7S Pro and the foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4.
