Although TikTok is well known for its amusing and fascinating filters, its most recent one has generated a lot of buzz among its fans. Users can make their faces look younger by applying the TEENAGE-FACE filter.
While some find this to be a humorous way to remember their adolescence, others worry about the potential repercussions of such an accurate metamorphosis.
Now, anyone can make a TikTok filter, and users may utilize specialized programs to produce 2D or 3D assets to include in the filter. There are many different kinds of filters; some are amusing, like quiz filters that tell you what kind of dog you would be, and there are even AI-based filters that can turn your selfies into futuristic AI-generated photographs.
According to the reports, body confidence expert Danae Mercer Ricci is one of those worried about a specific TEENAGE-FACE filter. She showed how lifelike the filter is in a video, demonstrating how anyone can use it to photoshop teenage faces onto female bodies.

Additionally, she underlined how risky this is given how simple it is for online predators to impersonate children.
However, some users have claimed that the filter misrepresents a teenager's look, casting doubt on the filter's veracity.
Some users, on the other hand, have found that the filter helps them. Users who are at ease identifying as non-binary, transgender, fluid, etc. should be especially aware of this. Many find it soothing to take a look back through the lens and imagine who they would have been without the filter when they were teenagers.
Social media filters have been a subject of discussion before. Many body confidence proponents have spoken out against the detrimental impact that filters might have on their users' mental health.

Certain filters have even been prohibited in recent years as a result of these worries. Maya Jama and Adele have both expressed their extreme worry over image-tainting filters.
Education regarding online safety for both oneself and young people is becoming more and more crucial as more filters become available. Realistic filters like TEENAGE-FACE are dishonest and might lead to dangerous circumstances.
