On Thursday, the Washington Post reported that Bannon was charged with conspiracy, money laundering, and fraud by New York in the We Build The Wall scheme. Steve Bannon, the former advisor at the White House and Trump's ally, surrendered himself at the Manhattan district Attorney's office. He will be charged for his role in the online crowdfunding scheme to build a wall along the US's southern border with Mexico that was promised to Trump. Steve Bannon   In the fundraising program, Bannon and three others were charged and arrested in 2020 for deceiving the contributors. In the "We Build The Wall" campaign, a $25 million fund was raised to build a wall across the US-Mexico border. The group promised to use the entire amount in the construction of the wall but found that almost $1 million was being used for their expenses. They spent on boats, cosmetic surgery for founder and retired soldier Brian Kolfage, and SUVs. In 2020, Bannon pleaded that he was not guilty of his role in the campaign to the federal charges but later was absolved by Trump. However, New York held its investigation after the group was pardoned by the president, as the state can press charges despite the presidential pardon. Steve Bannon   Letitia James, New York Attorney General, announced Bannon's charge on Thursday afternoon. Bannon called the accusations "phony." He stated. "They are coming after all of us, not only President Trump and myself," "I am never going to stop fighting. In fact, I have not yet begun to fight. They will have to kill me first."  In December 2018, Kolfage floated the We Build The Wall as a GoFundMe campaign, raising enough funds to build a fence for three miles along the southern Texas and New Mexico border. In January 2019, Kolfage decided to launch a nonprofit organization to raise money, We Build The Wall Inc, and the board consisted of Trump allies Kris Kobach and Bannon. Steve Bannon   Kobach is supposed to have used the nonprofit organizations' email list to raise money for his Kansas US senate campaign. Bannon was found guilty in July for disrespecting Congress and defying the summons from the House committee investigating the 2021, January 26th attack on the capital. Bannon will undoubtedly be jailed for at least 30 years after the sentencing in the next month.
