Twitter Breach: Hacker Posts Stolen Private Data of 5.4 Million Users in a Forum

The Twitter data breach exposed the phone numbers and email addresses of almost 5.4 million users, who had their private information taken. However, it appears that the majority of the stolen Twitter data has this time been freely posted online. According to most recent news report, the Twitter data leak started in 2021 and affected more than five million users. While part of the stolen material, such as their usernames and verification status, was essentially public information, the breach also revealed their sensitive information.  More specifically, the hackers gained access to millions of consumers' email addresses and phone numbers. The now-Elon Musk-owned social media platform acknowledged the security hole in the middle of this year and fixed the problem. On August 13, 2019, workers exit the company's San Francisco offices and pass a lit Twitter log. - By the end of the year, users will be able to follow a select few hobbies in the same manner they follow persons, according to a tweet from Twitter on August 13. Nevertheless, a threat actor offered the data of the 5.4 users for sale in July as Twitter acknowledged the security flaw. So it turns out that hackers used the opportunity to attack the flaw before the social network fixed it.
