According to reports, a Twitter data breach exposed the email addresses of millions of users to hackers. Security experts now claim that the stolen data has been freely released online. Therefore, anyone with access to these hacker forums might now check out the social network owned by Elon Musk's email addresses that were stolen. According to the most recent report, a hacker forum has apparently revealed the email addresses of almost 200 million Twitter users. The social media behemoth has not yet confirmed or denied whether such a hacking incident actually occurred. Security professionals affirm, however, that millions of Twitter users' personal information was exposed. Therefore, he claims that by using phishing to target these users, the incident may have the potential to result in hacking. The names, usernames, followers, and the date the accounts were created were all connected with the email addresses, according to CNN. Given that it contains Twitter user IDs, hackers might easily conduct phishing attacks. After the online news source downloaded its contents, the leaked data were correct for numerous users, according to a research by Bleeping Computer. The hacker forum's leaked material is stored in a RAR archive that can be up to 59 GB large. According to the cybersecurity website, it has six text files that list the purportedly stolen Twitter data. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]Twitter Image credit- Mashable[/caption]

Security flaw in the Twitter API

According to a CNN story, the stolen information may have originated from hacking incidents that happened in 2021 when Twitter's computer systems contained a security flaw. Elon Musk was responding to Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. On November 27, 2016, 5.4 million consumers' stolen data was made available for free. Additionally, it was revealed that in the same month, another collection of stolen data from around 17 million people was secretly disseminated. And in December, a hacker allegedly offered $200,000 for Twitter data that purportedly included both private and public information for about 400 million users.
