Elon claims that businesses will get a gold check mark, while government officials will get a grey one. Those who have purchased Twitter Blue will keep the traditional blue logo. He then informs everyone of an additional step that requires people to manually verify themselves before they can be fully verified. Twitter's CEO was then pulled for more information about the situation for people who paid Blue's $8 subscription fee or have been verified as a government official. Musk explains that, while every individual will retain the traditional blue marking, defining what is "notable" is simply too "subjective" to implement. Elon Musk has stated that a new version of Twitter's verification process will be available next week. In addition to having their name validated, users will be able to display a logo beneath their verification to indicate whether they are a member of an organisation. In order for this to occur, the organisation must also claim them.Sorry for the delay, we’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week.
Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates. Painful, but necessary. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 25, 2022
