Updated Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Does Better In The Latest Geekbench Test

With the help of its overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is coming out soon, did well in a new Geekbench test. In this latest benchmark, the Galaxy S23 Ultra model with 8 GB of RAM is shown. A model with 12 GB of RAM is also expected to be available. Since November, a Samsung phone with the model number SM-S918B, also known as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, has been showing up on Geekbench. The single-core score for this phone has often been around 1,500 points, which is a good number (with a few outliers). But there have been some worries about the S23 Ultra's multi-core score, which has mostly been in the mid-4,000s, with one sample reaching 5,000 points. Leaker Ice universe said that a smartphone like the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip should be able to get higher multi-core scores. [caption id="attachment_75552" align="alignright" width="1200"]Galaxy S23 Ultra Galaxy S23 Ultra[/caption] But it looks like the person who gave the tip can rest easy, since it looks like Samsung is still making changes to the software for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The 8 GB version of the 2023 flagship smartphone scored 1,566 points on Geekbench for a typical single-core score and 5,179 points for an improved multi-core score. This last mark is +10.45% faster than the S23 Ultra multi-core benchmark we wrote about in November. It is also in the same ballpark as other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones' multi-core scores, as Ice universe once again pointed out. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a processor that seems to be a sped-up Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Qualcomm says that the peak speed of the prime core is 3.2 GHz, but it seems that it can be increased to give slightly better performance. This Galaxy S23 Ultra Geekbench test shows a maximum frequency rate of 3.342 GHz, and even the average frequency rate of 3.225 GHz is higher than the advertised peak frequency rate. Now, all that's left to see is if Geekbench will eventually remove the Galaxy S23 range from its charts, like it did with many other flagship Samsung phones that were thought to have rigged benchmarks.
