The Federal Communications Commission issued an order that forbids Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. due to worries about data security.
Aside from the above-mentioned reason, this is an effort by American regulators to restrict Chinese telecom companies' access to American networks.
The Federal Communication Commission issued an order on Friday banning the import of equipment from Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corp. The imported equipment poses potential security risks to regulators that could result in a data breach.
They also listed additional businesses that are on the list, such as the manufacturers of two-way radios Hytera Communications Corp. and connected camera suppliers Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. and Dahua Technology Co.
According to a report from CBS News, the five members of the FCC voted unanimously (4-0) to adopt new regulations that will prohibit the importation of communications equipment and even the sale of technology that poses a security threat to the nation.
According to FCC chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, the organization is always dedicated to safeguarding the nation's security.
She continued, "These new rules are a crucial component of our ongoing efforts to safeguard the American people from telecom-related threats to national security."

Brendan Carr, the commissioner of the FCC, is pleased with the unanimous decision to forbid the approval of new equipment due to security concerns.
Bloomberg claims that the government's concerns, which first surfaced during the Trump administration, are now being carried out by the Biden administration and are entirely reasonable given that businesses do not alter or enhance their security in the face of a threat.
During their private meeting, US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping did not discuss this issue. But Biden made it clear that the authorities will keep acting to safeguard the nation's security even after he leaves office.
