Universities around the US are finding it difficult to deal with students utilizing ChatGPT, a generative artificial intelligence tool launched by OpenAI in November 2022, to cheat and plagiarize academic work. According to a report, the academic world is making every effort to change the educational system to accommodate the rising number of students using AI chatbots. School Systems Adapting Antony Aumann, a philosophy professor at Northern Michigan University, is one of many instructors who have changed the essay-writing specifications for their classes, requiring students to write initial draughts in class and subsequent draughts with justifications for each revision. Although the tool has been removed from school Wi-Fi networks and devices in the public school systems of Seattle and New York City to prevent cheating, students can still use ChatGPT with ease. Elon Musk claims that Twitter is superior to Instagram and that the Meta app depresses people. However, because they are unsure about the effectiveness of such a move and want to protect academic freedom, institutions of higher learning like colleges and universities have been reluctant to forbid the AI tool. As a result, ChatGPT is now at the top of many universities' priority lists. Administrators have created task teams and held university-wide conferences to address the tool, with a lot of the advise c entered on adjusting to new technologies. The school system is faced with a severe problem because even plagiarism detection firms acknowledged that ChatGPT's capabilities caught them off guard. On TikTok, the hashtag #chatgpt has received over 578 million views from users who shared videos of the program completing papers and those who openly promoted cheating. Schools are observing as more children become accustomed to technology. Professors are attempting to substitute in-class assignments, handwritten papers, group projects, and oral exams with take-home, open-book assignments at institutions like George Washington University, Rutgers University, and Appalachian State University. Universities are also making an effort to inform students about the newest AI tools. For instance, the University at Buffalo and Furman University have declared their plans to include a discussion of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in prerequisite courses that instruct students about concepts like academic honesty.
