Vantrue N2 Pro Dash Cam Review
Design and Features:
The Vantrue N2 Pro features a pair of cameras, a TFT display, and six buttons for navigation. It records forwards out of the windscreen and rearwards into the interior, making it ideal for taxi and rideshare drivers. The front-facing camera can record at up to 2.5K at 30 frames per second or 1080p at 60fps, with a 170-degree lens. The rear lens has a field-of-view of 140 degrees, and both cameras are capped at 1080p and 30fps when recording in both directions. The interior camera is aided by infrared night vision, making it easy to see passengers and the driver even in low-light conditions. The Vantrue N2 Pro comes with a suction mount, which is great for those who don't want an adhesive pad on their windscreen. However, the rotating lock used to secure the mount takes up a fair bit of space and may interfere with the view of the road ahead. The mount has its own USB port, allowing the dash cam to be powered either via this connection or directly from its own USB socket. A short USB cable and a longer cable attached to a 12V lighter socket adapter with an integrated USB port are included in the box. A microSD card is not included, so you'll need to provide your own. Unlike most other dash cams, the Vantrue N2 Pro has no wireless connectivity, which means it is entirely self-contained. There's no account creation process, no submission of personal data, and no need to install a smartphone app. However, this also means that footage cannot be easily transferred to a smartphone, and you need to remove the memory card and pop it into your computer or tablet. The button layout is also a bit strange, with navigation buttons on the underside and the select button on the front.Pros and Cons:
Pros of the Vantrue N2 Pro include its interior camera, good video quality, and simple setup. Cons include its unattractive design, lack of GPS, and the fact that the suction cup takes up a lot of space. Conclusion:
Overall, the Vantrue N2 Pro is a great dash cam for taxi and rideshare drivers who want added security and the ability to record both the road ahead and the interior of their vehicle. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of other dash cams, it is simple to use and provides clear, sharp video. The lack of GPS and wireless connectivity may be a downside for some, but for those who prefer a self-contained dash cam, the Vantrue N2 Pro is a solid choice.Leave a Reply
