Walmart to bring about prominent changes in substitution policy

Online shopping at Walmart is going to make significant changes to wear a different look. As per the recent memo viewed by Insider, in the upcoming weeks, Walmart pickup and delivery consumers will be paying the list price of the substitutions made to their orders. Before that, customers were only charged the price of the items they primarily ordered instead of the price of the substitute they received, even if the stated item was more costly. The fresh policy could finally lead to shoppers paying more for their substituted groceries. However, the new policy will allow customers "additional controls" over their orders, comprising the flexibility to choose and save their own substitution preferences. "There will be a bit of a transition period," a Walmart spokesperson told Insider. "But overall, this is pretty common, and we don't anticipate customers would have an issue paying for items they're receiving from us." Instacart and Complete Foods are among the many grocery shops that already apply this sort of substitution policy for online purchases.
