WhatsApp's Message Editing Function Still Under Design: iOS Beta App Already Available on iPhone?

According to reports, WhatsApp's ability to edit messages is still under development despite appearing in its Android beta app last year. With its most recent iOS beta app update, the messaging service owned by Meta now includes Apple iPhone users in its testing. While Telegram and other messaging apps now allow users to edit their messages, WhatsApp's stable version still doesn't have this feature. Despite this, it appears that Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is still preparing for the launch. According to a news report, WhatsApp began developing a function that would enable users to alter their messages after sending them either last year or in 2022. In its Android beta app, the messaging service first made it available. Some observers assumed that this meant the feature had possibly been shelved. This time, though, a fresh WhatsApp for iPhone beta version demonstrates that the tech behemoth is still working on delivering an edit feature that would let users change the texts they have already sent. For its users, it certainly is a useful feature. In fact, Apple just added an edit feature to iMessage that enables iPhone users to correct any typos or mistakes after texting. Additionally, the messaging service Telegram, which focuses on anonymity, has long offered an edit message capability. WhatsApp, on the other hand, has not yet made this or a similar functionality available. But for now, the edit message feature's beta testing demonstrates how the Mark Zuckerberg-owned messaging service intends to approach it. It should be noted that not all beta testers were able to access it because the ability to alter text messages is still being worked on. Yet it should soon begin to be widely implemented. The beta release adds an "Edit" option that gives users a temporary chance to change delivered messages. A message will get the label "edited" after it has been edited. The feature, however, doesn't offer a history of the altered message.
