A 44-year-old Georgia man was detained after enticing a woman into his apartment for a purported "cleaning ritual" and then reportedly raping her there. Hassan Shalgheen was accused of two counts of rape, false imprisonment, theft by fraud, and sexual battery. Police refer to him as a "witch doctor." On February 12, around 11:15 p.m., Duluth police officers responded to a report of a sexual assault. When the police got to the Berkeley Landing condominiums on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, they discovered the woman outside the home of her attacker, who went on to describe the horrific experience to the officers.

She informed the police that when she entered his flat, he made her take off her clothes and then abused her sexually. For the purported ritual services, the woman reportedly paid the "witch doctor" via two separate online payments totaling $500. The 44-year-old is seen sitting on the steps while being restrained in bodycam footage from the police. According to WSB-TV, a neighbor reported seeing numerous ladies coming and going from Shalgheen's flat. Later that evening, following Shalgheen's arrest, the Duluth police searched his house.
