No significant design changes have been made to Wikipedia over the past ten years. However,
Wikipedia has recently launched what may be its most extensive overhaul to date.
For the English language version of the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia is introducing a new, more contemporary style. The English Wikipedia, the version of the website with the most articles with over 6 million, will now use the look that was previously tested in other website languages. The more significant change, though, is the narrowed line spacing, which is a great improvement for individuals who own ultrawide monitors as it makes text easier to read on wider panels.

Reading articles in various languages is also made simpler by the new layout, which also makes it easy to browse through content. The posts themselves are still based on the same code and formatting, so their layout isn't changing much if at all; instead, everything in and around the posts has changed.
With this revamp, Wikipedia hopes to increase readability on desktop computers and wide-screen devices generally, as well as bring the design closer to that of modern smartphones. The English version of the design is already live, and it will probably spread to all other Wikipedia languages in the next weeks.
