The Precision 5480 is a 14-inch workstation with options for QHD+ and FHD+ 16:10 60 Hz 4-sided InfinityEdge displays, with active pen support included on the QHD+ model. Both display options are rated to cover 100% of the sRGB color gamut and have a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

Intel began segmenting vPro functionality based on necessary security features starting with the Alder Lake generation. Consequently, vPro Essentials are available with the Core i5-13500H and Core i7-13700H, whereas vPro Enterprise features are available with the other CPU options.

The Precision 5480 offers the same Nvidia RTX A1000 Ampere GPU with 6 GB GDDR6 Memory as the Precision 5470. Moreover, customers have the option of the 8 GB GDDR6-equipped RTX 2000 Ada or RTX A3000 Ada.

The Precision 5480 has passed MIL-STD 810H durability testing and has received ISV certification for workstation software. In place of USB Type-A ports, four Thunderbolt 4 ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort-out are used instead.

Additional features include a carbon fiber palmrest, an Infrared camera and fingerprint scanner for biometric logins, Dell Optimizer, Intel AX211 Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2 and optional NFC connectivity, and a carbon fiber palmrest.
