Withings launches ScanWatch 2 with advanced sensor and up to 30 days of battery life

Image credit : Withings Withings, a French-based company has come up with two new hybrid watches this week, the ScanWatch 2 and ScanWatch Light. Both watches feature enhanced sensors to track additional health measures all the time. As usual, Withings hybrid timepiece comes equipped with a small display and traditional mechanical dials. Thus, the ScanWatch 2 looks like a regular wristwatch at first instance while upgrading conventional watch functionality.  The ScanWatch lineups are currently available for preorder. The ScanWatch 2 is $350, while the ScanWatch Light is $250. The full retail launch is likely to take place in October. Withings’ new leading timepiece, the ScanWatch 2, is an enhanced version of  the original model with the inclusion of even more sensors and software streamlined to deliver users with consistent health tracking and precise analysis of new health metrics. As per Withings, the ScanWatch 2 features a 0.63-inch OLED panel that displays 16-bit grayscale colors accompanied by a 282 PPI pixel density to step up power efficiency. Moreover, Withings touts its battery to run for 30 days. The upgraded temperature monitoring functionality is thanks to the Withings TempTech24/7 module that measures ambient and skin temperature, apart from monitoring your heart rate and accelerometer. With the help of an upgraded mechanism ScanWatch 2 will track temperature shifts during the day and at night to alert you about the imminent health issues.  Also read : These CES gadgets are all set to curb snoring, pee issues and facilitate surgery The recently launched ScanWatch 2, which is offered in 38mm and 42mm sizes, can now be pre-ordered on Withings' official online store. The pricing starts at $350, and it's available in various face and color options, including silver black (42mm), silver white (38mm), silver black (38mm), and rose gold sand (38mm). Conversely, the ScanWatch Light, measuring 37mm, is also available for pre-order, priced at $250, and it comes in silver black, silver white, and rose gold sand face variants. Withings has announced that both of these new hybrid watches will be accessible through selected retailers starting from October.
