CMS that is open source (opens in new tab) WordPress.org has released WordPress 6.1 "Misha" in an effort to expand the block editing experience first introduced in WordPress 5.9 and WordPress 6.0 earlier this year (opens in new tab).
WordPress 6.1, named after Soviet-Norwegian jazz pianist Mikhail "Misha" Alperin, includes updates to its website builder including a new default block theme with ten style variations crafted by WordPress community members.

The update also includes new writing features such as the ability to select partial paragraphs within a block and a keyboard shortcut to add internal links to all blocks.
WordPress 6.1 was created to allow users to apply a distinct appearance and feel to a website within a specific theme. The update also includes fluid typography, which allows web designers to set one font and size to scale on any screen size and can be enabled via theme.json.
WordPress.org has also enhanced the layout and visualisation of document settings to make it easier for content creators to view and manage critical post and page settings.
