As the new season of Major League Soccer (MLS) begins on February 25, Apple TV is streaming the matches in 1080p.
The Major League Baseball games, which also stream in 1080p definition, appear to be following the same strategy as the iPhone manufacturer.
Although Apple has stated that it will stream the games this season through its MLS Season Pass, streaming and audio quality have not yet been guaranteed.
According to a report, Apple TV intends to stream every Major League Soccer game in 2022 in 1080p HD, just like the MLB games.
The news source points out that since it wasn’t previously available in 1080p quality, the streaming resolution for the upcoming season is essentially an improvement.
You’re out of luck, though, if you were hoping to watch soccer matches this year in gorgeous 4K quality. Apple TV customers must watch all MLS games in 1080p.
But despite the lack of a 4K option, this year’s titles have superior graphics. The league intends to increase the number of cameras on the field for a better watching experience, according to a report.

Therefore, you would still have to make do with 1080p even if you have a 4K TV at home. Regardless of their resolution, you might still like some of the visual enhancements.
The reports claim that because this has been the pattern for several events, many sports fans now anticipate that sporting events will be webcast in higher resolution. For instance, this year’s Super Bowl supported 4K. However, MLS games haven’t yet adopted the change.
The league validated the audio quality of its games on Apple TV in addition to the streaming quality. With Dolby 5.1 audio support, every game this season will offer a more immersive experience.
It should provide surround sound, giving the impression that you are seeing it live. I guess, sort of.
How to Purchase an Apple TV MLS Season Pass
The Apple TV app offers access to the MLS Season Pass. Therefore, you can utilise Apple TV or Android TV devices. That is not all, though. Users of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac could also access it.
Each month, it costs $14.99. However, if you currently have Apple TV Plus, the price would only be $12.99 a month.
