One of the biggest differences between the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro series will be Apple's Taptic buttons. The design of these buttons, including a replacement for Apple's iconic mute switch, is now revealed in new photographs taken from leaked CAD data.
Online CAD renderings of Apple's rumored "Taptic buttons" and solid-state mute switch have also appeared. These buttons were previously absent from earlier CAD files that were leaked. Data released by chenwen1987 on Douyin now demonstrate what to look for from Apple's anticipated September release of its next-generation flagship devices.

In particular, Apple will eliminate the separate volume up and down buttons found on current iPhones in favor of a single volume control button. According to past rumors, the Taptic button is pressure-sensitive and would recognize pushes to increase or decrease the volume without moving. It's possible that iOS may increase volume faster when the Taptic button senses a harder tap, although it's unclear whether this will result in haptic feedback similar to Apple's Force Touch trackpads.
The mute switch will remain in place but also come back as a solid-state button at this time. The physical mute switch that is now present on Apple's phones is reportedly still included in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are anticipated to feature taptic volume and lock buttons. It is currently unknown how Apple will include these pressure-sensitive buttons, which is unfortunate.
