Acer’s “ebii” is all set to grab the e-bike market.

Image Credit: Reddit Acer's latest venture into the world of e-bikes may seem like a departure from their usual PC-focused products, but the ebii is a utilitarian option that is sure to appeal to commuters and urban cyclists. With a chunky "ebii Box" housing the control box, battery pack, and headlight, the design is more functional than stylish. However, the 460 W battery can be removed and used as a portable charging station for USB-C devices, playing to Acer's strength as a tech company. Overall, the ebii is a solid option for those looking for a reliable e-bike for their daily commute. Despite its utilitarian design, the ebii is surprisingly lightweight, weighing just over 35 pounds (16 kg) thanks to its single-sided fork for the front tire. However, it is worth noting that the bike is designed to accommodate most riders between 4.75 and 6 feet tall (145 to 185 cm), so taller riders may not find it as comfortable. In terms of performance, the ebii will not set any speed or distance records, with a top speed of around 15 mph and a range of 68 miles. Nevertheless, it is a solid option for those looking for a reliable and lightweight e-bike for their daily commute. According to the ebii app, the bike adapts to the rider's pedaling power, riding conditions, and preferred level of assistance, learning over time for a more personalized experience. Additionally, the app is used for proximity-based locking and unlocking, and the bike includes GPS positioning for easy retrieval if stolen. While Acer mentions a "smart LED display" for battery level and range, it's not pictured in the company's photos, and the display is actually viewed through the app. Pricing and availability for the ebii have not yet been announced by Acer.
