Apple’s M2 Max Macbook Pro Looks Awesome, but Don’t Buy It

My favorite laptops over the previous two years are the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. These computers are the real deal, and aside from their hefty price, they don't really have any weaknesses. But in every case, you get what you paid for. The latest M2 speeds, which we first saw in the M2 MacBook Air last year, are applied to the M1 Pro and Max versions to bring them up to date. Undoubtedly, these are speedier chips, and Apple claims that the graphics performance has improved significantly compared to the model from the previous year. Overall, Apple claims that the M2 Max's graphics are 30% faster than the M1 Max's, which is a significant generational improvement. The biggest performance improvement is readily seen with the 38-core GPU, which is the top choice for both the 14-inch and 16-inch machines. The business claims that the new MacBook Pros are up to 20% faster in practical applications when generating titles and animation in Motion, Apple's own After Effects alternative. Photoshop's image processing is 40% faster than Xcode's compilation, which is 25% faster. Of course, these are all simply assertions; no one has yet been able to back them up with review samples. The M1 Pro draws a lot of interest from people in that demographic since it offers the least expensive "discrete level" graphics you can get on a MacBook, especially the less expensive 14-inch model. In other words, this demographic want something with a respectable amount of power but probably won't notice a significant difference between the M1 Pro and M2 Pro. The other new features on these MacBook Pros are minor in comparison. Wi-Fi 6E, HDMI 2.1, and a slightly longer battery life are all welcome additions, but they are unlikely to significantly alter the user experience. Apple M2 Pro and M2 Max The problem is that Apple has removed the model from their lineup that was from the prior generation. Additionally, the M1 Pro and Max MacBook Pros aren't currently receiving a significant discount if you look at merchants like Amazon. But once the new models become available, which is just next week, I anticipate that will change. So I suggest holding off on seeing how much these prices drop until the next week. Even in the basic configurations, I'm hoping to see some significant drops. For the time being, though, Apple is selling a refurbished 16-inch M1 Max model for less than $600. But at the moment, it's the only high-end configuration offered under Apple's reconditioned program. Again, we anticipate additional big price reductions in the near future, but for now, that is all we have. Apple M2 Pro and M2 Max There is therefore no need to purchase one of these new MacBook Pros if you do not actually need the generational upgrade from the M1 to the M2. Save some money instead, and then watch for next week's expected price decrease on the prior generation.
