Mark Zuckerberg made a significant statement on Tuesday at Meta's Connect conference: the company's Horizon VR app's avatars would soon have legs. Aigerim Shorman's digital avatar kicked into the air as Zuckerberg's digital avatar lifted each leg in the air and performed a jump to demonstrate this ground-breaking technological breakthrough. All of it might have been for show. An unnamed Meta representative reportedly stated that the "part contained animations developed from motion capture," aimed to "allow this preview of what's to come," according to UploadVR editor Ian Hamilton.

That seems to me that what we actually saw was an artist's rendering of what Horizon's legs might ultimately look like rather than a demonstration of what they would truly look like.
