Helpful Hints For Getting Started With One Piece Odyssey

One Piece games have been plenty, but none have ever been as big and drawn out as One Piece Odyssey. Fans of the anime and manga, or even the previous games based on the hugely popular pirate exploits of Luffy and friends, will find quite a different experience when starting up this game. Although the game isn't particularly challenging, there are several things to be aware of before setting out for these unexplored regions. To avoid pushing yourself too far, check out some crucial One Piece Odyssey tips and strategies.

Ensure that you are concentrating on the major narrative (at least until chapter 3)

One Piece Odyssey has both linear areas and open areas where you can wander out and battle, level up, complete side missions, and just explore. While it might seem appropriate to immediately enjoy your spirit of adventure, you should at least hold back on that zeal until chapter 4. You'll have all the resources and characters at your disposal by this time, and you'll have reached the critical junction where exploration starts to pay off in a meaningful way. Understand the power triangle

In One Piece Odyssey, the battle system combines traditional turn-based JRPG battles with a power triangle akin to that in a Fire Emblem game. Power, Technique, and Speed make up the triangle this time. Speed outperforms Technique, Power is more effective against Speed, and vice versa. Each character (and enemy) fits into one of these three categories, thus in order to be the most efficient, focus on foes that your character can inflict the most damage to.

Attend to your team

Don't disregard this as a piece of flavor text. They will frequently offer small indications or cues to locate secret passages, routes, or regions to investigate. Nico will assist in unearthing archeological artifacts, Nami is good at discovering money to loot, and Sanji will frequently point out locations to acquire cooking supplies.

Perform every dramatic scene for XP

Dramatic Scenes, which you can choose to complete or not as optional additional objectives, are a fresh twist on fights. These can vary based on the battle, but they all provide a significant XP gain, so you should always choose them. These can include defeating an opponent in a single turn, using a particular character to defeat an adversary, or even simply making the combat more difficult by buffing the adversary. Increase speed and use auto combat

Last but not least, once you get the hang of it, ordinary battles will seem insignificant. You have two options for preventing burnout. In order to quickly navigate the cool, but occasionally lengthy attack animations, increase the fight pace to fast. Second, you can activate the auto-battle mode by choosing it in the Tactics Menu. Even if you begin a boss encounter, it will remain on until you manually turn it off and will not take into account dramatic scenes. Even while auto-battle is safe to use if you're returning via an earlier area full of weak adversaries, you should still keep an eye on it just in case.
