Instagram Threads Gets Bookmarking Feature, Heating Up Competition with X!

Calling all social media butterflies! The text-based Meta app Instagram Threads is testing a new feature that will make organizing fans drool: the option to store posts! This much-needed improvement allows users to bookmark their favourite articles for later and moves Threads closer to X/Twitter, its main competitor. Imagine finding a funny discussion or an article that gets you thinking, but you don't have time to jump in right away. Not to worry! You may now save any post by simply tapping the three-dot menu and saving it for later use with the new functionality, which is still undergoing restricted testing. It's similar to building your very own digital gem library. There's a twist, though! Currently hidden in the "More Options" menu, Threads' save feature is not as visible as Instagram's bookmark button. This choice may baffle some people, but it's all a part of the testing process. Just as X just did with its iOS bookmark button, Threads is probably testing to determine the best location for this new function in terms of usability. It's not surprising that Threads included this in its toolkit. The software has been progressively adding functionality since its release last year in an effort to draw users and rival platforms like Mastodon, Bluesky, and X. Recall the feature they're working on called "Trends"? Yes, it's all about keeping users interested and ahead of the curve. In terms of engagement, Threads has over 130 million monthly active users, demonstrating its strength in the social media market. That being said, whether you're an experienced user of Threads or a curious newbie, be sure to keep an eye out for the save feature and get ready to bookmark your way to social network success!
