Apple allegedly reduced the manufacture of the iPhone 14 Pro series by 14%.
Apple has agreed to reduce the production of the iPhone 14 Pro models by around 15%, starting in Q1 2023. The demand from customers for Apple's most costly iPhones is declining due to the worsening global economic situation, even though they are selling comparably well and better than the iPhone 14 Plus.
It's no secret that the iPhone 14 Plus has received negative reviews; in fact, not long after the smartphone was released, Apple already reduced its production goals. But according to Trendforce, the iPhone 14 Pro series will also meet the same demise, but not until the beginning of next year. Although sales have reportedly remained high, growing inflation in Europe and the conflict in Ukraine are reportedly keeping Apple from meeting market expectations for its most recent flagships.
The fact that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are more expensive than their predecessors in areas like the Eurozone and the UK is another factor to consider. Although Apple has kept prices for the
iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series the same in the US, price increases outside of Apple's home market have been caused by the US dollar's sustained appreciation against other major currencies. Analysts now anticipate Apple will reduce the number of iPhone 14 Pro series units produced to 52 million, a 4 million-unit decrease from earlier projections.
So, estimates for production have decreased by 14%. In contrast, it is believed that Apple has boosted the production of the iPhone 14 Pro series, which is likely to be the cause of the subpar sales of the iPhone 14 Plus. Apple reportedly increased its initial ratio from 50% to 60%, but if necessary, this might rise to 65%. Apple expects to ship 240 million iPhone handsets by the end of 2022, an increase of 2.8% annually from the previous year. Trendforce claims that beginning in Q1 2023, Apple will commit to reducing the production of the iPhone 14 Pro series.
