For better or worse, Facebook Marketplace has taken over as the top online marketplace for secondhand goods. You might not want to log into Facebook to explore listings, though. Actually, if you know where to look, you needn’t.
Using Facebook Marketplace without Signing In
You might believe that you need a Facebook account in order to browse Marketplace, but you can do so by going to facebook.com/marketplace. Although a large red banner across the top of the screen will ask you to log in, you are not required to.
San Francisco is most likely the default setting, but you can click it to alter it without signing in. Additionally, you can use the filters and search function as usual. However, a Facebook account is necessary to set up alerts.

If you want to avoid all of this, you may use a search engine like Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo and type in “facebook marketplace kayaks Detroit MI” to get a result that will take you directly to that search on Facebook Marketplace.
All there is to it is that! You might ultimately get a pop-up from Facebook that you can’t close, but you can just erase the site’s cache to get rid of it.
Facebook Messenger is the sole way to get in touch with the seller unless another method is specified in the item description. Although Facebook Messenger can be used without an active Facebook account, you must be signed into Facebook in order to start a conversation with a seller.
