source: 91mobiles LG may have left the smartphone market last year, but the South Korean tech giant still seems to be ahead of its competition in terms of software updates. Recently, the company announced the Android 13 update for its LG Wing smartphone, which is scheduled to arrive in April 2023. Interestingly, the LG Wing will receive the update before Motorola's Moto Edge 30 and Moto G Stylus 3, both of which were launched later than the LG Wing.

Android 13 update for LG Wing

The LG Wing was released in September 2020, and it came with Android 10 out-of-the-box. The phone has already received the Android 11 update in some regions, and the Android 12 update is currently being rolled out in others. The upcoming Android 13 update will be the third major OS upgrade for the LG Wing, making it one of the few devices to receive three major Android updates.

Motorola's Android 13 update plans

Motorola has not yet announced its Android 13 update plans, but the company usually releases two major OS updates for its devices. This means that the Moto Edge 30 and Moto G Stylus 3 will likely receive the Android 13 update, but it is unclear when the update will arrive. It's worth noting that Motorola is known for releasing timely security patches and minor updates for its devices.

LG's commitment to software updates

LG has always been committed to providing software updates to its devices, even after it left the smartphone market. The company has promised to provide up to three years of Android updates to some of its devices, including the LG Wing. This means that the LG Wing will receive security patches and minor updates until 2024, which is impressive considering that the phone was released in 2020. The importance of software updates

Software updates are important for several reasons. They not only bring new features and improvements to a device but also provide security patches that fix vulnerabilities and protect users from threats. Moreover, software updates can extend the lifespan of a device, making it more valuable and usable for a longer period of time. LG may no longer make smartphones, but its commitment to software updates is still commendable. The Android 13 update for the LG Wing is a testament to the company's dedication to providing timely and regular software updates to its devices. While Motorola has not yet announced its Android 13 update plans, it's likely that the Moto Edge 30 and Moto G Stylus 3 will receive the update in the future.
