Meek Mill is facilitating the reunion of Philadelphia prisoner women with their families just in time for the holidays. According to a press release, the 35-year-old artist and co-founder of REFORM Alliance paid bail for 20 women this week, five of whom were freed from Riverside Correctional Facility on Friday. Robert Rihmeek Williams, also known as Mill, stated, “It was devastating for me to be away from my son during the holidays when I was incarcerated. So I understand what these women and their families are going through." He continued, "No one should have to spend the holidays in jail simply because they can't afford bail. I'm grateful for the opportunity to help these women be with their families and loved ones during this special time of year." According to the press release, the advocate for criminal justice reform also offered each of the women a gift card to use for gifts or groceries. Furthermore, for those unaware, Mill co-founded REFORM Alliance with Michael Rubin, Shawn "JAY-Z" Carter, Robert Kraft, and others in 2018. And since then, he has helped pass 16 bills in 10 states, promoting "stable communities, stronger families and greater public safety for all," according to a press statement. On Saturday morning, he posted a REFORM article on his Instagram Story, showing one of the women hugging him after being released from custody. Mill stated, "They had me locked up somewhere far away from familyyyyyyyyyy. Blessings." Lastly, Mill is now concentrating on "15 more women being released in the coming week," as the REFORM post explained.
