Microsoft Set to Use OpenAI Tech to Write Emails for Busy Salespeople

Microsoft Corp. is integrating ChatGPT creator OpenAI's artificial intelligence capabilities into one of its products, this time a customer-relationship tool that is intended to help Salesforce Inc. increase revenue. With the use of OpenAI's text-generation technology, Viva Sales, which integrates Microsoft Office and video conferencing software with customer relationship management software, will be able to produce email responses for clients. The AI technologies will extract information from customer records and Office email programs, including OpenAI's GPT 3.5, the platform that serves as the foundation for the ChatGPT chatbot. Following that, emails containing personalized text, information about prices, and promotions will be created using that data. The Microsoft Dynamics customer management program and Salesforce's competitor's program are both compatible with the Viva Sales app, which was first made available in October. Users who sign up for the premium versions of Dynamics receive it without charge, and Salesforce customers pay $40 per user per month. Microsoft has been incorporating the systems and products from the AI research shop into its software for computer programmers and the cloud since last month, when the company announced a reported $10 billion investment deal with OpenAI. According to a source familiar with the situation last month, Microsoft intends to employ ChatGPT to improve its Bing search engine. Microsoft executives have also discussed a range of consumer and business applications for OpenAI's work. Since its debut at the end of November, ChatGPT has gained a lot of online interest. Speculation about its potential to displace professional writers and potentially endanger Google's main search business was aroused by its approximation of human discourse. The company that created it, OpenAI, earns money by charging developers to use its technology.
