Microsoft Teams is a communication platform on Microsoft. It is a part of the Microsoft 365 family of products. Additionally, it offers users access to workspace chat and videoconferencing, file storage, and application integration. Previously, the app wasn’t available in Microsoft Store. Thus, users either downloaded it from the web or it came with the rest of the Microsoft 365 apps. However, as per a roadmap update from the company, Microsoft Teams will soon be available for download in Microsoft Store.
Moreover, the update states that Microsoft Teams will soon be available on Windows 10 and 11 next month. On the one hand, Windows 10 version will be compatible with personal, work, and school accounts. On the other hand, Windows 11 version will only be for work and school accounts. Interestingly, Windows 11 already consists of a built-in Microsoft Teams version. Additionally, it supports personal accounts, allowing users to chat with friends and family, but not as an alternative to Slack.
Furthermore, Microsoft had intended to bring Teams to its Store in 2021 with the new redesigned Microsoft Store release. Besides that, the company revealed that users will now be able to install Android apps on Windows 11. In addition, the apps were downloadable through the Amazon app store. Consequently, it allowed users to download Teams from the Windows app store for a few months, but the mobile version.
Nonetheless, users are delighted with the news of Microsoft Teams in Microsoft Stores. Microsoft is also experimenting with an Apple Silicon-native version of Teams, which is excellent news for dual PC/ Mac users.
