As she opened up about her family's origin, Mila Kunis stated that she has "never been more proud" to be from war-torn Ukraine and that she has been assisting individuals fleeing that country. The actress, 39, was born in Chernivtsi, a city in the Soviet Union at the time, but her family moved to Los Angeles when she was seven years old.Mila Kunis Mila started a fundraising effort after Russian forces invaded her country earlier this year in an effort to aid migrants. To far, she has assisted in raising more than $37 million (£30 million). Mila has worked to help millions of people in need by supplying them with basic necessities and temporary housing, alongside her husband Ashton Kutcher.

The Black Swan star has also worked hard to ensure her children — Wyatt, eight, and Dimitri, six, — are aware of where they come from.

"My kids were always going to grow up eating my mother's food. My parents and I speak Russian to each other, so they've grown up with that. They've naturally found pride in being half-Ukrainian. "The truth is I'm very American. I was raised in Los Angeles. That said, I've never been more proud to be from Ukraine. "I'm so honored my kids can carry on that heritage," Mila said in an interview with People.
Although she acknowledged that she had briefly discussed the conflict in Ukraine with her kids, she said that they "aren't capable of assimilating this amount of information."Mila Kunis The Hollywood diva received calls from pals who wanted to help but didn't know how, and they encouraged her to organize her fundraiser. She claimed that GoFundMe made it easy to set up in just 24 hours. In order to support those escaping Ukraine, her charity, Stand With Ukraine, has teamed up with Airbnb and Flexport to distribute aid to refugee camps. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, congratulated Mila and Ashton for "inspiring the globe" with their fundraiser and expressed his admiration for their tenacity.
