The Apple TV operating system now offers a new multiview function that allows you to watch numerous games simultaneously. It was previously alluded to in code, and it is now actually usable.
Again, in order for this to function at all, you must be using tvOS 16.5, which is the beta version of the Apple TV operating system. But once it's enabled, adding more games and switching between them using the Siri Remote is a rather simple procedure. It wasn't immediately apparent whether Apple would make its implementation available to other programs or if it would just be used within the Apple TV app.

Starting this weekend, it will be possible to watch multiple Major League Soccer matches at once. Additionally, Apple will stream two baseball games on Friday night. While news addicts might use multiview (not that we'd advise anyone to watch more than one station of cable news at a time), sports is the obvious use case for it. YouTube TV is rumored to have its own implementation for NFL Sunday Ticket in the works.

Search for the icon that resembles a square with four quadrants to activate multiview. When you choose it, the choice to add other games will appear. Also see how you can combine Major League Baseball with MLS Next Pro in the image above.
Neither is multiview itself particularly a novel feature. It used to be available on other streaming services, and ESPN now has it turned on on their Apple TV app.
