With new windows 11, there are typically numerous stages involved in connecting to a virtual hotspot. In order to connect, you must first unlock your phone, go to the personal hotspot menu, enable the hotspot, find it on your computer, and input the password. If your phone is within range, Instant Hotspot will automatically connect your PC. Once the initial setup is over, nothing additional needs to be done.
Since the feature now only functions on Samsung smartphones, around 75% of Americans will be left out. The Samsung device must be running One UI 4.1.1 or later, and the most recent preview release of Windows 11 is 25231. A PC with built-in Bluetooth and the Phone Link desktop app version 1.22082.111.0 or later are additional requirements.
Don't lose hope if you don't use a Samsung device. Technically, the feature is still in testing and may eventually support a wider range of devices. On the other hand, there is a possibility that Microsoft collaborated closely with Samsung to build it given the security standards associated with this kind of feature. A certain amount of cooperation and an OS upgrade would presumably be needed to expand the feature to additional devices.
You must be a member of the Windows Insider program to access it and the Windows 11 build it is included in. Before they are fully released, the software enables users to sample and provide input on planned Windows 11 enhancements.
