Pixel 8 display size could be smaller than anticipated

For years, Google's Pixel brand offered both small and large versions of what was essentially the same phone. The smaller Pixels were some of the best little phones available at the time. The introduction of the Pixel 6 series, with both the smaller Pixel 6 and the larger Pixel 6 Pro debuting with enormous displays, changed everything. Customers were at least staring at 6.4 inches of the display. The Pixel 7's introduction with a 6.3-inch display the following year saw a slight reduction in size. The phone's new, thinner design made the size reductions much more obvious. In December, we first learned that the phone would be smaller, and later CAD-based leaks identified a display size of around 6.2 inches. Display expert Ross Young predicts that the Pixel 8's display will be 6.16 inches in size. Even though it isn't significantly smaller than the Pixel 7, the Pixel 8 Pro, which Young claims will keep the same 6.7-inch display as its predecessor, will undoubtedly feel much smaller. This will probably be rounded up to 6.2 inches in marketing materials and spec sheets, in our opinion. Young adds that the display panel in question was manufactured by Samsung. Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and Samsung's Galaxy S23 both have displays that are 6.1 inches. According to tradition, Google will launch the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro sometime in October, but if last year's surprising reveal is any indication, we may receive a glimpse of the devices at Google I/O next month. The Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and other details regarding the Pixel Tablet are also anticipated to be unveiled during that event.
