Later, he passed away. In a statement late on Wednesday night, SFPD Chief Bill Scott stated that the investigation into the fatal stabbing is still underway and that police are "working tirelessly" to identify the offender or offender(s). Scott said in the statement, "I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Lee. "This kind of violent crime against anyone has no place in our city," the mayor said. As with every tragedy in our city, he continued, "I want to reassure everyone that our investigators are working relentlessly to make an arrest and deliver justice to Mr. Lee and his loved ones. In Rincon Hill, a San Francisco neighborhood located just outside the financial center, Lee, 43, was stabbed at roughly 2:30 a.m. The neighborhood includes a few eateries and pubs in addition to Google's headquarters. "We are still in the early phases of our investigation. As a result, we are refraining from making any comments on the evidence or conjecturing about the circumstances leading up to this terrible crime," Scott added. I want to reassure everyone in San Francisco that our department is staffed and prepared to respond to all demands for service, even though we will devote the appropriate resources and personnel to this inquiry. Early on Tuesday morning, Lee was last seen on surveillance footage stumbling along the pavement. According to the San Francisco Standard, the Silicon Valley tech executive can be seen grabbing his side in the footage before falling to the ground. According to the local report, the footage appears to show at least one driver ignoring his cries for assistance. According to SFPD, they discovered a man with stab wounds around 2:35 a.m. and provided first assistance there. The person was then taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. "Officers provided help and called for medical assistance. With injuries that could have been fatal, the victim was sent to a nearby hospital. The deceased passed away from his injuries despite the efforts of emergency services and medical staff, according to a statement released by the police on Wednesday. The Chief Product Officer of MobileCoin, where Lee worked, confirmed Lee's passing on Wednesday. The police are currently looking into what transpired and will provide further information when they can. Read More: What was net worth of Sara Lee when she passed away?
