Recycled Aluminum & Magnesium Used in ThinkPad X1 Notebook Model

With a focus on incorporating more sustainable materials into these devices, Lenovo has made a few minor improvements to its high-end ThinkPad X1 range in its most recent versions. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8, and the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 are among these improved computers. Although none of them will undergo a significant overhaul, Lenovo is prioritizing making them more environmentally friendly. 90% recycled magnesium and 55% recycled aluminum is used in the construction of the X1 Carbon Gen 11's palm rest and bottom cover, respectively. However, the palm rest and bottom lid of the X1 Nano Gen 3 also contain 90% recycled magnesium. These laptops also come with more recyclable retail packaging, which, according to Lenovo, is now composed entirely of bamboo and sugarcane fiber. It's a part of Lenovo's ill-fated effort to become net zero by the year 2050, which is a very long time from now. The X1 Yoga is an all-aluminum variant with a 360-degree hinge, the X1 Nano is the little model that weighs just over two pounds, and the X1 Carbon is the company's flagship ThinkPad. Of course, this includes the anticipated 13th-generation Raptor Lake CPUs from Intel. The only other significant difference is that the X1 Carbon Gen 11 will now offer configurations with up to twice as much RAM, from 32GB to 64GB. The IdeaPad Pro 5i/5 Gen 8, IdeaPad Slim 5i/5 Gen 8, and IdeaPad Flex 3i Chromebook Gen 8 are some of these. The IdeaPads come in 14- or 16-inch screen sizes, while the Chromebook is a 2-in-1 device. The I in 5i stands for Intel, whereas AMD powers the ordinary version. The improvements to the company's monitor selection, which now includes two new mini-LED screens, are in addition to the announcements. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 is anticipated to cost $1,729, followed by the X1 Yoga Gen 8 and the X1 Nano Gen 3. Beginning in April 2023, all three laptops will be offered.
