Richard Gere & his wife Alejandra Silva shared holiday greetings in a photo with their sons

Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva are spreading holiday cheer from a tropical location. Silva, 39, shared a sweet family photo on Instagram on Saturday to wish her friends and fans a happy holiday season. "Merry Christmas from our family to yours," she wrote beside the photo of herself and the Pretty Woman actor, 73, looking out over a small lagoon area with their two kids—-Alexander, age three and a half, and one whom they welcomed in April 2020, whose name has not been made public yet. Silva is wearing a golden maxi dress, while the boys are wearing matching blue Crocs, shorts, and t-shirts. Meanwhile, Gere wore the same casual outfit as his children. Additionally, Gere is the father of 22-year-old son Homer, whom he shares with his ex-wife Carey Lowell. While Silva is the mother of 9-year-old Albert, who she has from a previous marriage.

Additional details Alejandra Silva provided a glimpse of her family enjoying some quality time together while on a walk outside last month. Richard Gere and Silva are seen in the autumnal photo extending their hands in the air to reveal to Alexander their enormous shadows below. In addition, Alexander imitates them by sticking out his arms to reveal his own shadow on the pavement. Additionally, Alexander dressed for the chilly expedition in a white sweater, a pair of bright green rainboots, and a pair of pink pants. Silva captioned the image, "Daddy, mommy, and Alexander." Moreover, a few weeks later, Silva celebrated a "very important day for our family" by taking a photo with her husband in front of the American flag after he officially became a U.S. citizen.

On another note, before they started dating in 2014, Gere and Silva had known one another for more than ten years. They were "extraordinarily happy" and had been married "weeks and weeks ago," a source close to the couple told PEOPLE in April 2018. The source said, "They're so comfortable with each other, have fun together, and are looking forward to their future together." Lastly, a film source who has known Gere for years told PEOPLE after the couple's marriage became public that Gere "has been much happier in this half of his life because he is settled, confident, and doing what he likes."
