Samsung Offering Free, Unlimited Cloud Storage for Galaxy Users

Samsung has some good news for people who own Galaxy devices. They have introduced something called "Temporary Cloud Backup." This service allows Galaxy device owners to save as much data as they want in the cloud for up to 30 days, and it won't cost them a thing. But there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

Unlimited Storage, with Limits

First, you can save as much data as you want, but each individual file can't be bigger than 100GB. That should be okay for most people who use smartphones. Second, you need to be connected to Wi-Fi to use this service. And finally, you should be running One UI 6 or a newer version on your Galaxy device (some people might need to update their devices to use this).

How It Works

If you meet these requirements, you can use this feature to put your data on Samsung's servers. It will stay there until you want to put the data back on your device. If you get close to the end of the 30-day period, Samsung will remind you. Samsung says this is a helpful way for users to save and bring back important information. Chiyoung Seo, who works at Samsung Electronics, said this feature might be handy when your device is being fixed or when you're switching to a new Galaxy device. One Less Worry During Repair And Replacements Of Samsung Phone

Samsung's Temporary Cloud Backup service is a great solution for ensuring your data stays safe in various situations where you might worry about losing it, such as when you need to get your smartphone repaired. Samsung has integrated this feature into Maintenance Mode, making it easier to back up personal data on your device, including private files stored in the Secure Folder. This feature is also helpful for Samsung Galaxy users who want to upgrade their devices without the stress of transferring data. When you're preparing for your new preorder device to arrive, Temporary Cloud Backup offers a reliable and simple way to move your data. You can confidently back up your data before performing a full reset on your old device, knowing you can easily recover it at any time. When setting up a new device for the first time, you can restore your data as part of the Setup Wizard. Even if you skip this step, you can access Temporary Cloud Backup in Maintenance Mode or the Reset function, ensuring free and convenient data restoration. Temporary Cloud Backup is the latest addition to Samsung Cloud, reducing the risk of losing data on lost, stolen, or broken Samsung Galaxy devices. It provides a secure, easy, and seamless experience for backing up and restoring data on Galaxy devices, protected by Samsung Account's two-factor authentication for added security. This service is part of Samsung's ongoing efforts to enhance the mobile experience for users across the Galaxy ecosystem.

Availability

This option is starting with Galaxy S and Z series smartphones in Korea. But Samsung says all Galaxy phones and tablets using One UI 6 will have access to this feature sometime this fall. To see if you can use it, check your settings in the Reset or Maintenance Mode menus.
