Stadia introduces one last game for gamers and it's coming from Google

The shutdown of Stadia by Google is only a matter of days away. Nobody anticipated the company's announcement last year that it would discontinue the cloud gaming platform, but the axe would not fall immediately. Despite the difficult road leading up to January 18th, Stadia games have continued to be released. Google has now made available what will serve as both the service's final title and a heartfelt farewell to all of its devoted users. Worm Game is the name of the game (via 9to5Google). According to Google, the game served as a sort of testing ground for Stadia developers from before the platform's 2019 rollout to the time it was officially shut down in 2022. It appears that this game was never meant to be released to the general public because it lacks polish. In essence, it's a more sophisticated version of the old-school Snake game that supports gamepads and keyboards. Campaign, multiplayer, arcade, and a rather cool custom level editor are the four available game modes. Even though it's unlikely to win any Game of the Year awards, it's a fun distraction to play during Stadia's closing hours. This Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. Pacific, it will also go offline along with the rest of Stadia, adding to Google's list of failures. Currently available Stadia alternatives are something we've thought about. Additionally, if you own a Stadia Controller, keep an eye out for a significant upgrade that will enable you to use it with whatever console or device you choose, as well as those other cloud gaming services.
