Tom Cruise told Emily Blunt to "stop being such a p—y" on a movie set

Emily Blunt alleges Tom Cruise gave her some unorthodox — but motivating — advice when they worked on "Edge of Tomorrow." The actress, now 39, remembers her Hollywood co-star dishing her some tough love on the set of the 2014 action film, which was a break from her usual rom-com fare. As she struggled with her 85-pound outfit, she claimed Cruise told her to "stop being such a p—y." Blunt confessed on the "SmartLess" podcast in an episode that will be released on Monday, according to news sources, "We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would’ve been great if we had CGI’d them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way." "When you hear the word ‘tactile,’ you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy," she went on. "The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Cruise] didn’t know what to do.” Blunt claimed Cruise "stared at her" as she became more concerned about wearing the bulky outfit. I said, ‘I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.'” Cruise's reported remark made the "Devil Wears Prada" actor cry again — but this time in a pleasant manner. "He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p—y, OK?'" Blunt said and added that it caught her by surprise and made her laugh.

What's more

In "Edge of Tomorrow," Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt play time-traveling warriors striving to defend humanity after Earth is attacked by aliens. Additionally, Blunt apparently damaged her ribs and collarbone while working on the science-fiction picture set, in addition to the huge outfit. She allegedly informed podcast hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett that the affected bones "are still dodgy.”
