- Navigate Precisely with Numbers (1-9): One of the most unpopular features on YouTube is the capability to hop to particular points in a video using numbers 1 to 9. Each number depicts a percentage of the video's time, letting you steer fast. For example, pressing 4 takes you to the 40%, while 7 takes you at the 70% point.
- Precision Navigation: Use these shortcuts to accurately move across a video. To hop 10 seconds towards the back, use the 'J' key. Press the 'L' key to advance 10 seconds. Use the Left/Right arrow keys on the seek bar to navigate back or forward 5 seconds.
- Playback Control: Learning about playback control is necessary for a pleasant watching experience. To pause playback, use 'K' or the spacebar. Press '.' while the video is stopped to move to the next frame. When the video is paused, hit ',' to return to the previous frame.
- Audio and captions: Easily personalise your options for audio and captions: To mute or unmute the video, use the 'M' key. To activate closed captioning, press the 'C' key.
- Optimise Viewing Experience: Using this shortcut can improve your visual experience. To get into full-screen mode, press 'F'. If you're already in full-screen mode, use 'F' or 'Escape' to escape.
- Adjust Volume: Customise your watching experience by changing the volume. To increase or decrease the volume by 5%, press the Up/Down arrow keys on the seek bar.
Combining these YouTube keyboard shortcuts into your video-watching schedule will change the way you engage in videos on the platform. As you smoothly navigate through content, you'll find a recently discovered sense of control that improves both the efficiency and satisfaction of your YouTube experience. So, the next time you venture on a YouTube video journey, recall these hidden shortcuts and get full video control.
