China appears to be after the Galaxy Z Fold! After the success of Honor's Magic Vs foldable and Oppo's outstanding design of the Oppo Find N2 Flip, Vivo is preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable to the world: the Vivo X Fold 2.
Vivo shared a handful of photographs on Weibo summarising the 2023 Boao Conference for Asia (March 28-31) and providing some details on the aforementioned foldable. "It's a wonderful honor that Vivo X Fold 2 had its global premiere at the Boao Forum in Asia," the machine-translated text says.
We couldn't locate any photographs of the Vivo X Fild 2 among the provided documents, so we can only presume it was revealed during a media event during the forum. According to the text, the phone would have "an all-round premium configuration" as well as "a light and thin flagship feel."
The wording above confirms prior speculations from the well-known source DigitalChatStation that the Vivo X Fold 2 will be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 foldable. The first-generation Vivo X Fold was officially unveiled in April of last year, so we should expect the successor to follow suit.
The following are the (rumored) specifications of the Vivo X Fold 2:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
- RAM: 12 GB
- 8.03-inch display
- 50 MP + 10 MP + 50 MP rear camera
- 32 MP selfie camera
- Battery capacity: 4800 mAh
