When he fought off armed robbers who sought to search his daughter's car, a regular man in Australia rose to fame. Steve Middleton, unlike Superman, was not dressed in a bodysuit or cape when he entered the street to confront the suspected burglars. However, he was only wearing his underwear, just like DC's most popular superhero. Middleton is shown fighting the armed strangers in a video that has gone popular on social media. Boxing Day, December 26, saw the incident. Middleton stated that he had woken up to his alarm in the morning with plans to go fishing that day in an interview with 9News Gold Coast. But when he stood up, he noticed a torch light in his daughter's car and made the quick decision to act. To avoid scaring the robbers too much, he realised that he was "starkers so had to put something on."Steve Middleton. So he hurriedly changed into his undies and dashed out into Mermaid Waters. Middleton was unaware that additional gang members were waiting in a different car since everything happened so rapidly. Additionally, he was unaware that the two opponents he was about to fight were armed.

Middleton said, “All I was doing was trying to was wrestle the young fella down,” adding that he “was more screaming out for the neighbours and trying to get some help so we can just apprehend the young fella.”

He can be seen holding one young man back in the video at one point as the other tries to smash a baseball bat and a knife at him. When he grabbed hold of one of the kids, a struggle broke out, and he even suffered some scratches and bruises on his hand. Middleton, though, was able to escape the altercation without suffering any significant injuries. He's now referred to online as the "underwear hero." On the other side, he is being humorously referred to as "Captain Undies" by his buddies. The gang managed to avoid capture but was unable to steal the car they were purportedly in.
