The young child who was discovered dead in a suitcase in a remote area of Indiana was identified by police. Cairo Ammar Jordan, a 5-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, was recognized as the child, and authorities are now attempting to detain his mother in relation to the crime. During a press conference, Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls declared that Dejaune Ludie Anderson, 37, is sought after on suspicion of murder. “This whole case is about justice for Cairo. That’s all this case has ever been about,” Huls said, according to New York Post. “Justice for everybody means bringing those responsible for this death before the public to stand trial,” he said. On Monday, October 24, Jordan would have turned 6 years old. Anderson is currently at large and is accused of obstructing justice as well as negligence of a dependent that resulted in death. Police detained 40-year-old Dawn Elaine Coleman, another murder suspect, on October 19, 2022. She is also accused of obstructing justice and neglecting a dependent who died. The 40-year-old Louisiana resident was apprehended in San Francisco, California, and will soon be sent to Indiana. Huls withheld information about Jordan and Coleman's relationship, leading one to believe that they were unrelated. “There were no witnesses, there were no family members, there were no acquaintances that came forward with any type of information,” Huls said. “We only had what we had there at the scene.” He also noted that Anderson has traveled to multiple US cities, including Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. Police are seeking help from the public to find Anderson. Huls said that “physical evidence led to the suspects” in Jordan’s tragic death. Jordan's body was found on April 16, 2022, by a mushroom hunter inside a hard case with a characteristic Las Vegas pattern on it. The reason of his death, according to state authorities, was an electrolyte imbalance, most likely brought on by gastroenteritis or by vomiting and diarrhea that caused dehydration. The youngster was never reported missing, according to Huls, and had passed away a week before to his discovery.
