Emma Thompson once wrote a "fan letter" and asked Prince William for a kiss

Over the years, Dame Emma Thompson and the Prince of Wales have shared many special moments, including a funny video call and an invitation to be a presenter at the first annual Earthshot Prize Awards. Yet after she received her Damehood at Buckingham Palace in 2018, one of the celebrity's best anecdotes from a run-in with the Prince was made public. The Oscar-winning actress talked about how she approached him after the ceremony and even wrote him a "fan letter" asking for a kiss. And as Prince William presented her with her prize, Ms. Thompson joked about her unusual request to him while promoting the Disney film Cruella over a video link. She revealed: "Prince William was absolutely fantastic. I wrote him a fan letter afterwards. His face and body language, so kind and generous to every single person. I've known him since he was little really. I've always liked him."
