Galaxy S23 Ultra's Gorilla Glass Victus 2 durability & repairability put test in video

Some Galaxy S22 Ultra users might be unsure whether upgrading to the new 23-series version of that former flagship phablet is worthwhile, especially in light of the supposed edge provided by incremental design changes that involve upgraded Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the device's front and back. That solution may have been developed by some seasoned YouTubers. Since the brand-new, high-end Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has been available for purchase for eight days, bend, drop, and scratch tests are long overdue. But now all of these are covered by the YouTubers JerryRigEverything and PBKReviews. Corning, Samsung confirm Galaxy S23 has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 - SamMobile Photo Credit: SamMobile The most recent model, which replaced the S22 Ultra, upgraded to Gorilla Glass Victus 2 from Victus+. However, it would be an understatement to suggest that they were equal in terms of resistance to drops from different heights (the lack of vehicular challenges this year notwithstanding). However, unlike its predecessor, the S23 Ultra's screen fractured upon first contact with the target enemy (concrete) in Victus 2. However, the early-2023 S Pen-equipped flagship survived the PBKReviews drop test and continued to function normally, in contrast to the S22 Ultra. In the more recent footage, none of the rear camera rings were broken. During its first-ever JerryRigEverything appearance, the S23 Ultra also put on a shameless display, especially when its new, very slightly altered Armor Aluminum frame was put to the bend test. However, the S23 Ultra can be disassembled about as simply as any other modern flagship smartphone, according to the latter channel's disassembly. The S23 Ultra scored a 9/10 in our first test of third-party repair thanks to Samsung's innovative battery pull-tab design, which should make replacements considerably simpler.
