Google Pixel Fold Looks Fantabulously Fantastic In A Leak

Ever since Samsung made the first Galaxy Fold, people have been talking about a foldable phone made by Google. What would it look like? What would the cost be? Does Google even care about a Pixel that you can fold? After months of small leaks and rumors, we now have the most important news about the Google Pixel Fold to date. On November 14, FrontPageTech released a bunch of renders that showed how the Pixel Fold was made. And, to sum it up, it looks pretty damn amazing! Let's start with the phone's outside The front of the Pixel Fold has a large outer screen that is much wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 4's narrow cover screen. The Pixel Fold's outer screen has a hole-punch cutout with a 9.5MP front-facing camera and pretty thin bezels all around. Around the back is a triple-camera system with a housing that looks exactly like that of the Google Pixel 7 Pro. It's not clear yet what the camera specs will be, but it's likely to be the same as the Pixel 7 Pro, with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 48MP telephoto camera. When we open the Pixel Fold, we see a big screen that looks like it's in landscape mode, like a tablet. The top and bottom bezels of the inner screen are pretty big, and the top bezel hides a second 9.5MP camera for selfies and video calls. A USB-C port for charging, speaker grills on the top and bottom of the frame, and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button are some of the other design features. FrontPageTech shows off the Pixel Fold in two colors, chalk and obsidian, which should both be available when the product comes out. FrontPageTech says that the Pixel Fold will come out in May 2023, likely at Google's I/O conference the following year. Google Is Planning To Launch Foldable Pixel Phones, Leak Shows Display Size The price is another interesting thing to learn from this leak. According to FrontPageTech, the Google Pixel Fold will cost $1,799. That's a lot of money and a lot more than the Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro, but it's about the same price as other foldables. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4 starts at the same price as its predecessor, the Fold 3: $1,799. At that price, Google won't be able to do anything groundbreaking, but it should be able to keep the Pixel Fold nice and in line with its biggest competitor. So, what's the most important thing to learn from all this? Assuming that these renders are correct, the Pixel Fold looks amazing. It's basically an Oppo Find N made by Google, which isn't a bad thing at all. If Google can make a foldable phone with great cameras and its usual Pixel smarts thanks to a Tensor chip, and if Android 13 can support the whole thing with software made for big screens, we could be in for a real treat.
